Today we started out at the Colloseum! I was so excited to actually go in this time, after not getting to do it last time. My pictures unfortunately are not very good, but it was an awesome experience. Our favorite pass time so far is to translate the various inscriptions that are all over the city. When we walked through the forum, we stopped for minutes at a time staring at the carvings piecing together their meaning. We are told that our professors are not allowed to tell us give us the tours because they are not licensed, so we had to get a local tour guide to give us the most basic run down of everything which was unfortunate. I was really looking forward to getting some insights from Marshall and Pam.
Italian pizza is way better than American. I have no idea why. Maybe its because it is has more bread than artery clogging amounts of cheese and gout inducing volumes of meat, but I love those thing too.
We also got to tour the inside of the Pantheon. I was left with the same impression that I had of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and Nativity in Israel. A munoment that would have been the most amazing thing ever was ruined by the Roman Catholic "renovations" which included renaming it the Holy Mary to the martyrs, and putting the most gaudy ornamentations and painting where beautiful statues once stood. The dome is incredible with its open center called "the eye." So Awesome!!!
The best story for today was at dinner during the desert. It was a hazelnut chocolate brownie with some sort of sauce. My friend and I were chewing our first bites, and then as we nodded and stared at each other he said, "This tastes like carpet," and then he left to wash out his mouth. LOL The funniest thing ever!
Arrivederci! :D

Great stories! How funny that your friend thought the brownie tasted like carpet. That's what Roger said when he ate one of those fried dim sum taro things I like. I again ask, 'how do you know what carpet tastes like?
