I haven't slept in over 30 hours, and my eyes are about to pop out, but I made it to Rome after a three hour van ride and 13 hours of flying time. The flight was probably the most eventful. I sat next to a guy that insisted on taking most of my leg room and the elbow rest (grrrrrrrrr). I decided that I enjoyed my leg room more than I feel awkward about sitting thigh to thigh with another guy, and I fought for every inch of my space. It lasted all 10 hours of the first flight. There was also an incident involving a smoker in one of the bathrooms on the plane. And finally one of my friends kept a brimming cup of wine in the cup holder. So when the plane was coming in for a landing I told that he should suck it down quick. He didn't listen. When the landing was more rough than usual and the pilot hit the brakes a little hard as well, the cup shot out of the cupholder spilling red wine everywhere. Hilarious!
After the plane landed in Rome we were all expecting on having a big meal and going to bed early (especially since I had gone without for the last 30 hours). But the tour guide wanted to take us site seeing. I probably won't remember anything we, because all I could think about was sleep. Being in Rome still doesn't feel real. I don't know what is wrong, but I just don't feel like I am here. It's really strange!
Thanks to all my friends and family for yours prayers for my safety! I made it here with only one bloody nose

A bloody nose? Who punched you??? Are you sure it wasn't the red wine? LOL I always feel 'unreal' the first few days after a long travel day like that.....as if my head isn't really attached to my body. I'm sure you'll feel better with some good food, a good night's sleep and some nice Illy coffee in the morning. Don't forget to get me a city cup if they have SBUX there. I love you and miss you.
